Are there different requirements for starting an Internet company for starting a storefront business?
I am interested in the following have a real window, but can not afford the overhead until I'm sure the business will take off, so I thought I might start selling online. BTW … I'm mostly asking questions about the legal requirements.
There are significant differences in terms of legal requirements. An online store is easier to start in terms of all regulatory requirements. In many states, you simply register your business and get a sales tax. Note that business registration is different business licensing, and online stores are generally not allowed (those where the license is required include child care, etc.). All you have to do is go to your country and ask them how to register a business and get a DBA or assumed name of business if you plan to use a name other than your name. With a real showcase, you will need zoning approval, building permits, business licenses, registration businesses and, in some states, you still need a permit if you listen to music in your store. Electronic commerce is certainly the way to go if you have limited resources.
