Telemarketing regulations in Canada?
Does anyone know the regulations on telemarketing in Canada? I received an automated call this morning (9:00 Saturday) from a cleaning service at home to wake up after three hours work up. I checked the website of the AMC, Better Business Bureau, and websites of the Government of Quebec and here's what I understand.They are not supposed to call you before 9 am on weekdays, 10 hours on weekends. However, I think the rules apply to CMA members and volunteers are – Guidelines, not actual laws. I want to know if the automated dialing services are legal, and if someone knows more information on direct marketing and telemarketing rules in Canada. I put myself on the list Do-Not-Call last year and it did not help, even if it is supposed to reduce calls for 3 years. I just did today – the suspect is not really a useful tool and we need current legislation to implement it.
You know what? I want to know the answer to this question also .. I researched and also came with the same results. BELL I pay to be on the "do not call" list and I am also unlisted .. Too bad! Make that many companies use random numbers, starting with 123, 124 etc. – understand what I mean? – And all call automatically. This is a little happiness. Once you get "hit", it is saved and you will have to suffer .. I used to get a lot of BS via my fax – Same number as my main number because I rarely use it and also calls at night, even when I sent a fax to return number indicating that I do not want to be a target would not do. Ended up taking the phone off the hook at night, and take the paper out tray the fax machine .. (All the ink wasted for nothing!) Most people now know that I will not pick up the phone if they do me not warned in advance, either that or I wait to hear the voice of the caller on my answering machine, before deciding to pick up the phone. This is annoying … sure, but … I realized that if you do it for a while, you do not get many calls or almost ever, but once again ……. Here the carousel again.
